So I’ve been reading about Wattpad on a few writers’ blogs and decided to try it out. I’m always up to try new social media, especially social media geared toward writing. For me, the best way to learn something is to just do it, so I’m posting the scenes of a short I’m working on right now. Not sure how wise it is to post my stuff in the raw, but hey, maybe I’ll be an inspiration to all the other guys with dyslexia that don’t know how to use commas either! And my editor can use these as before and after samples! (You think his stuff is bad now? You should have seen it before I fixed it! She said to all who would listen.)
The Cathouse Boys is planned (okay hoped) to be a series about the goings on at the Cassa de le Paloma Rosa, the old brothel in the Spanish Quarter of Bennett Bay. In contemporary times it is a boarding house full of college kids and other young folk, but almost everyone calls it the cathouse. For those folks that have read “The Three of Us,” the contemporary stories are set about a year later and Sam, Jeff and Reed are living at the Pink Dove. So they’re the Cathouse Boys. I love those guys and couldn’t leave them alone.
This first story is set in the 1930s during the Depression when it was still a “working house.” I wanted to sketch out some of the history of Bennett Bay. We’ll see how it works out. Let me know what you think.

Thanks!
