“No need to force yourself to do something the “right way” if it’s not your right way. Your job is to honor your process.”
—Andi Cumbo
Stephen del Mar is a gay male writer living in the Tampa Bay area and writes in the Southern Literary tradition. His stories are character-driven with rich settings. They often have a touch of paranormal, supernatural, or magical realism.
Although he writes about serious subjects, they are sweetened with humor and wit. He says, “It’s a southern thing.”
His main body of work is a collection of novels and shorter works set in and around the fictional town of Bennett Bay, Florida. They are a spicy mixture of the mundane and paranormal, because even if you’re a River Druid, you still need a day job.
His favorite pie is Key Lime. His favorite cake is red velvet, and his adult beverage of choice is a mango margarita—blended please.
